The probability of requiring a medical evacuation is low, however; evacuations can be expensive. Comprehensive travel medical insurance is recommended, especially for those who reside outside of British Columbia.
Trip participants are encouraged to check if their medical insurance would cover evacuation costs from a remote wilderness area in Canada.
If you must cancel for medical reasons, trip cancellation insurance could reimburse the trip price and travel expenses. Some insurance policies also reimburse travel expenses in the unlikely event that we must cancel a trip.
Cancellation insurance is optional and recommended. In some circumstances, it may only be purchased within a day or two of paying the deposit.
